The legendary "Bup" Rearick was born in Dover, Ohio - March 11, 1909 and died in Canton, Ohio in 1965. "Bup" was graduated from Dover High School where in 1926-27 he captained the Tornadoes to the State Championship in basketball only to return in 1933 and coach the Dover basketball team to the State Championship.

In 1938, "Bup" became the head coach of Canton McKinley in Canton, Ohio where the name "Rearick" is still magic among the McKinley faithful and former players. "Bup's" football record for his career at Dover and McKinly was 118 wins 21 losses, and 10 ties for a winning percentage of 85%. In basketball his career total was 428-130 for a winning percentage of 77%.

At McKinley in basketball, the Bulldogs were State Tournament Runner-up in 1940, 1943 and 1956; Semi Finalist in 1945 and 1954; in the sweet 16 in 1940, 1941, 1943, 1945, 1948, 1954, 1956 and 1961.

Bup's wife, Mary the former Mary G. Hensel, along with son, William B., and daughter-in-law, Marianne Rearick, along with grandchildren, Elizabeth Cornell, William M. and Stephen B. Rearick, all reside in Canton, Ohio.
